London-based contemporary pop artist, Andrea Di Giovanni is what Paper Magazine defined ‘The Next DIY Pop Star’; combining their catchy hooks to heartfelt lyrics, they have a unique sound ‘that feels primed for the top of the charts’.
Their music has been championed by The Line of Best Fit, Clash Music, Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” playlists, and a number of online tastemakers. The Independent also featured an in-depth, passionate interview with them on the weekend of Pride in London 2018, where they performed in front of 50k people on the Trafalgar Square Main Stage.
In 2019 Andrea released Forbidden Love, the queer liberation anthem which was premiered by Billboard. They performed the song live on BBC Radio London and gained a feature spread in DNA magazine, Daily Star, Gay Times, Gay Star News. Following single Bang earned media attention from publications such as Attitude, The Line of Best Fit and reached over 280k streams.
Their latest EP Permission (2019) was championed by Billboard and presented live at Birmingham Pride 2019, which had more than 100k attendees. It was also praised in an interview spread with PAPER Magazine and some of the EP tracks got included in Spotify’s Cosmic Playlist “Gemini & Aquarius” and Billboard’s own “Queer Necessities” playlist.
Andrea has made a comeback for 2020 with few singles from their debut album including the pride anthem ‘Stand Up’, co-written with UK’s own SXMSON; ‘Miracle’, enticing collaboration with LA songwriter GESS (Shea Couleé, Drag Race), ’Another Story’, Pop/RnB jam penned together with SXMSON and the club anthem ‘Leave It’.
Their hit song Shame Resurrection has been featured in Netflix’s Tiny Pretty Things, gaining an interview on Euphoria Magazine and more than 1 million streams across all streaming platforms.
