Volunteers

Any Pride festival is only as good as its volunteers, and Birmingham Pride has the best……by far. Some of our volunteers have been helping us to deliver a safe and enjoyable festival for years and are an invaluable part of our Pride family!

Our team of volunteers undertake vital and important work prior and during the festival weekend. From organising participants in the Pride parade march, marshalling the parade, stewarding the entrances and ticket control lanes, providing information, directing and assisted attendees, helping with accessibility and MUCH more.

Put simply, we couldn’t organise our festival without our amazing volunteers. Is it something you would like to get involved with?

How do I get involved?

Volunteering for Birmingham Pride means you’ll be a valued member of the Birmingham Pride team, in the thick of everything over the festival weekend in September. You will be responsible for making Birmingham Pride safe and enjoyable for everyone. It’s a fantastic opportunity to contribute positively to your community, meet new friends and develop new skills. You will be part of a team and an event that brings the people of Birmingham together to celebrate, assist, fundraise and campaign for the wider LGBTQ+ community.

We have various exciting volunteer roles for you to get involved with over the festival weekend. We require dedicated, passionate people to help with the Pride parade, stewarding, fundraising, accessibility, and more. You could be working in the ticketing areas, at the ‘Street Party’ event, the ‘Free community Pride’ event, or the ‘Smithfield Live’ arena. Whatever your passion or interest, we have a role for you.

Applications are open to all, regardless of faith, race, ethnicity, ability, sexuality and gender identity.
